Position Details
- Role: Veterinary Receptionist
- Status: Full-time
- Salary: Negotiable and based on experience
- Schedule: [e.g., Monday through Friday; no nights, weekends, or holidays]
Located in the beautiful hill country in Southwest Austin, Austin Veterinary Diagnostic Hospital puts all parts of a veterinary clinic and an animal hospital under one roof, catering to both routine and advanced care of your pets. Our clients appreciate our commitment to provide all veterinary services in one location on the same day (in most cases). We have a full suite of diagnostic technology enabling us to conduct ALL procedures in-house for client convenience. This includes a CT scan, an ultrasound machine, endoscope/arthroscope equipment, a CO2 surgical laser, a dental X-ray handgun, a fully equipped laboratory, and more!!

Client Relationship Specialists! We are seeking a dependable person with a positive attitude and superior customer service skills! And of course - - someone who loves animals as much as we do!
Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years’ experience in customer service (veterinary experience preferred!)
- Ability to communicate clearly & professionally (both verbal and written)
- Has a pleasant, friendly, and patient attitude
- Strong work ethic & team player mentality
- Self-driven & fast learner
- Possesses conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills
- Demonstrated passion for excellence with respect to treating & caring for clients/pets
- Understanding of medical terminology (preferred)
- Evenings/Weekend availability as needed
Job Duties:
- Provide top-notch customer service by being very attentive to client and pet needs
- Answer phones, texts, and email professionally, timely, & compassionately
- Accurately schedule appointments and procedures
- Manage patient and client flow: Including checking in/out and navigating basic client complaints
- Facilitate communication between clients and medical team as needed
- Utilize computer system to accurately enter client & patient information, and update and maintain medical records appropriately
- Process client payments and collect deposits, including following up on additional or missing payments
- Ensure the lobby, waiting room, and your workspace is clean and organized.
- Other administrative duties as needed
