What are your office hours?
We are here for you from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Monday through Friday, and we have extended hours on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
We are pleased to offer extended weekday hours with convenient drop-off and pick-up options. While most other offices close at noon on Saturdays, we are here for you until 4:00 PM.
My schedule is pretty hectic. Can I drop off my pets before I head to work and pick them up after work?
Yes, we are open at 7:00 AM, and you are welcome to drop off your pet for the day to receive exams, diagnostics, treatments, or surgeries. On your way back home after work, you are welcome to pick up your pet, depending on the scheduled procedures. We also believe it is important to provide same-day results and treatments, in most cases, to ensure that your schedule is minimally impacted and that your pets receive high-quality and efficient care.
Where are you located, and is there ample parking?
We are located a few miles west of the “Y” in Oak Hill in Southwest Austin right off of Highway 290 West. Look for our Austin Veterinary Diagnostic Hospital sign that is visible from the highway. Are you available if I have an emergency outside of regular office hours?
Our veterinarians are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help clients with pet emergencies. If you are a client and you have an emergency, call us or text us at (512) 288-1040.
Do you perform all diagnostics, lab tests, and other procedures in-house or do you refer them to other locations?
We understand how important it is to provide on-site diagnostics, and we perform routine and advanced diagnostics and laboratory tests in-house with same-day results in most cases. In addition, we are equipped to perform procedures, including CAT scans, on the same day in most cases. We even have the staff, equipment, and veterinary expertise to assist other veterinary hospitals that trust us and send their toughest cases our way.
Is there a suggested schedule of regular care and maintenance for my pet?
Think of your pet as another member of your family. Regular office visits are always the best mode of care to ensure that pet health is optimal and wellness is maintained. This also allows us to stay ahead of any potential health problems that might arise. We are pleased to offer wellness plans that allow you to stay on schedule, and you can leave the planning to us. Better yet – clients who have pets on our wellness plans receive discounts and even a free ultrasound with our comprehensive plan. Learn more about our wellness plans. Learn more.
It will be my first visit to your office. How can I best prepare?
We aim to ease the intake process for all new clients and pets, and we recognize that coming to a new veterinary hospital can sometimes be stressful for pet parents and their pets. To promote a calm environment, we provide separate entrances and separate exam rooms for dogs and cats. To keep the dogs happy and relaxed, we have a bucket full of dog treats in the lobby and exam rooms. To ensure that our feline patients are comfortable, cat toys are provided in our feline exam room, and soothing music plays in the feline ward.
Before you visit, we recommend that you e-mail or fax your pet’s medical records to our office. Our fax number is (512) 288-5538. It is also important to know the name and dosage of your pet’s current medication. By having this important information, we can quickly and efficiently get you checked in, diagnosed, and treated. Do you have additional questions? Call us or text us at (512) 288-1040. Better yet, we invite you to take a tour of our hospital to get to know us. See you soon!
I know that you provide advanced care, including CAT scans, ultrasound, digital x-ray, and laser surgery, but can you also help with my pet’s routine care, such as vaccinations and heartworm prevention?
We are proud to cover the full spectrum of your pet’s needs from routine wellness, preventive care, and annual wellness to advanced care. You can count on us to employ the newest, most advanced technologies available for your pets today since top-notch care is our focus.
It’s important for me to have a veterinarian with a caring and compassionate attitude and a staff that cares about my pets as much as I do. Does your staff provide a warm and friendly environment, and are they sensitive to animals?
When you and your pets come to visit us, you become part of our extended family. All four of our talented veterinarians also have their own pets and understand how important they are as members of the family. Our entire staff, including our Veterinary Technicians and Client Relations Specialists, aim to foster a caring relationship with you and your pets, and we look forward to helping them lead the most healthy, happy lives possible. We appreciate the positive feedback that our clients share, and you can read their testimonials to learn more about what makes us so special and worth the extra drive if necessary. Are you AAHA Certified?
Our hospital continuously earns the highest level of accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). We work hard to achieve and maintain adherence to these strict guidelines and standards. In doing so, we rank in the top 10 % of veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada.
I heard that you allow pet owners to be in attendance as procedures are performed. Is that true?
We encourage our clients to be as involved in their pet’s care as desired. We appreciate your curious nature, and we invite you to join us as we perform procedures on your pet. You’ll learn a lot and be able to better understand your pet’s health in the process.
